Vishal Singh of FTI speaks so well. I will let him speak for me:

Vishal Singh: I agree it is extremely tough to form a new political party. My point is that is not utopian and surely possible. FTI ( www.freedomteam.in  ) is in business of building a platform for last 5 years and I am personally associated with it for last 3.5 years. We are the only platform in India which is building policy coherence.

By policy coherence it means people agree how a problem will be fixed. There are many people with good intentions but they have different ways. These people do not stick long with each other. For e.g. look at Anna team. The team has no policy coherence. Getting policy coherence is extremely tough task. A simple task like how to fix education will have thousand of views. FTI principle is built on freedom and accountability. These words have lost meaning in India, but they are the core philosophy for FTI. All our policies will ultimately derive from freedom and accountability principles.

As you said there have been many attempts by well meaning people but they were all designed to fail. A good intention does not mean people will vote for you. You need to have big impression on people that you mean business .People should believe that you can fix their problems. By 2017 we want to create a new political party and I am sure this is all possible. India is a young country and there are very strong undercurrents for a change. FTI fits the bill to bring the change. We are the onlyplatform which guarantees that India's problems can be fixed because of our strong policies.Current political parties cannot change. If it was easy to change existing party we would have taken that route. The current political parties are wedded to socialism and have been taken over by the most corrupt. It is impossible for them to change even if they want. Even if competent people join existing political parties they will not be able to fight the corrupt culture of existing political parties.

The only option to change India is forming a new political party. All other options are bound to fail

There is huge shortage of leaders in India. Yes, every one wants a change but very few want to do hard work , build a team, build policy coherence. I invite all of you to consider FTI. It is not that anyone can join FTI. There is a interview and a joining process. We want to be very sure that we have the right people.

To summarize let us have faith that a new political party can work in India. This is the only way to change India.

Also:

Yes, elections do cost money like any other activity. But I suspect what you are alluding is that you require money to buy votes and win elections. Now this is not true. People will vote for the right candidate if given a choice. If there are no choices then money comes to equation.

A simple thought experiment. Will people not vote for Anna if he stood for elections. Will he have to buy votes ? If there are right candidates and right policies of a political party you do not require money to buy votes.

Revolutions don't work. We have history as proof. JP movement did not end corrupt governance. True congress was out of power, but it came back. Look at Anna movement, all the energy has disappeared.

You require a sustained momentum based on the backing of many people and a coherent team. Also please note the fact that in India people win elections on very less percentages. If you have 20-25% of vote them you have won elections. A political party only requires to win 20 votes out of 100 people. This makes job easier for new parties. It is not that difficult as people think of creating a new political party and winning elections. True it is lot of hard work- but is not impossible. We have to imagine and take the first step. They key is have people believe that a political party can solve its problems. Today people think all political parties are corrupt and cannot solve their problems. There is a huge demand for a good political party. People support Anna and Ramdev because they are fed up with all the current political parties. But both Anna and Ramdev want to remain apolitical. They do not want to contest elections.

FTI www.FreedomTeam.in  is all about creating a platform of people which will create a party which people will believe in. Take the first step and rest will all follow.

Also:

If right people assemble funding is also not an issue. Indians never had any choices. They have to choose from worst. If there is credible party they will surely give it a chance.

The shallow haughtiness and arrogance of “educated” Indians

On January 24, 2012, in India, by Sanjeev Sabhlok

Here's a comment from Vishal Singh (FTI member) posted on Linkedin here:

Anup – The reason to bother is I live here and I am not prepared to lead a pathetic life any more. I want a good life. I want it here in India and I want in my life time. For many years I have been questioning myself why as a country we are so pathetic. When I worked abroad I found people to be same as what I found in India. In fact now I see ordinary Indians more hardworking than people in west. I have come to conclusion that root of the problem is we as Indians have never realized what citizenship means. We have never understood what freedom means.

We all somehow believe that the country will be magically run where as we go without lives. The middle class view is that country is a private organization from where they expect services without contributing anything. Even NR Murthy only complains ! Blame it on politicians is the mantra. This is proven with large scale support of Anna Hazare which represents the mentality- I will not contest elections but I want my lokpal. A muddled thinking can only see a lokpal to work. A rational brain would have questioned more on root causes.

The second problem was our socialistic structure which has destroyed the markets. It has made life miserable for every Indian- be it rich or poor.If we have to change we have to attack the following areas – middle class apathy towards politics and socialism. To tackle socialism one has to understand real capitalism. Unfortunately Indians have always identified capitalism with crony capitalism only. I remember Harshad Mehta was a role model for many in my younger days. This is because we have been never been taught of what real capitalism is.

Educated people also get very hurt when told that they don't understand citizenship and what capitalism is all about. Alberuni has rightly told about haughtiness of Indians. I know all and I am not prepared to listen to anyone is our philosophy. I write all this not with pleasure but with experience of last 3 years in convincing people of changing India.

FTI (FreedomTeam.in) is about reclaiming India. This is our country. We cannot close our eyes and expect things to change. We need to act in the right direction to get the country realize its full potential. It is slow process but the right process.
