Flipkart has just sent me an ad for this book, for pre-order. Penguin India's website says that this book will be published on 17 September 2012. So currently the book must be well on the way across the country, to be given a pride of place in each bookshop on 17 September.
Gurcharan Das was kind enough to send me a draft for comment. I truly liked this book. It continues the tradition he started with India Unbound – of documenting in an amazing style the vibrant changes occurring in India. Unlike many Indian authors who are pessimistic about India's future, Gurcharan is always brimming with optimism and hope.
This book also contains an analysis of the recent anti-corruption movement.
Like EVERY book by Gurcharan (including his works of fiction – which are not as well known), this book is a must-read.
I have no doubt Gurcharan will soon be a serious contender for a Nobel Prize in literature, assuming he has not already been so shortlisted. And many national awards and honours await him.
He is right to hope for a liberal state in India. I assure him that we will bring about the necessary change. We will make Ambedkar's dream of a liberal state in India, a reality.
I strongly recommend that you consider pre-ordering this book for Rs.419, a considerable savings over the list price.
