I'm very pleased to hear that JP's movement to liberate farmers from the clutches of a socialist, mercantalist, and statist Andhra Pradesh government has been successful.
I've got no time at the moment to find out more about this, but let me congratulate JP on bringing freedom to Indian farmers.
Let's all work together to bring freedom to India.
Farmers liberated from socialist restraints: Congratulations JP (Lok Satta)! http://t.co/5zet7HYc #india #politics

You should SERIOUSLY consider moving back to India. I’m sure that together, we can bring Indians to right knowledge through exhorting them out of socialist education so ingrained in them.
Like you know, we need not contest elections immediately, but at the minimum you can spend 2 days (weekends) working towards creating political awareness among people using mediums OUTSIDE of the internet. That’s what I’m planning to do in near future.
There’s a short story in Ramayana about a squirrel – an insignificant creature — who contributes its part in building the bridge (Ram Setu) for Ram and his army. It mouth-picks small pebbles and throws them in the sea. Vanars deride his work, saying that his efforts are not going to make any difference given the size of the sea. At this instant, Ram intervenes, holds the squirrel in his hands and praises him for his determination and commitment, in turn setting a precedent for us. While this story may not be factual, it provides us with significant lessons — my point being that it is imperative that we continue spreading awareness, not merely through writings, but also through speeches, lectures, and dialogues with the common man.
Please choose to move to India and lead FTI — just like JP and Shantanu. Although you have tried your best prior to moving to Australia, I invite you do continue doing even more, until even the last breath. Only two days per week ON THE GROUND.
Dear Harsh, moving back is a huge ask, but I’m happy to do so should circumstances permit.
I’m not a retired person with means and have to work VERY HARD to fund my retirement (I resigned after 18 years in the IAS which means I get no pension – entitled after 20 years. Instead, I have had to re-start my career from scratch in a new country – with the huge added disadvantage of soft racism and age-related discrimination).
I’ve been, however, looking for job opportunities in India that might allow me to move back and also devote some time for reform, but that has not happened – yet.
The other circumstance for me to return to India would be if Indians are willing to put their time AND money into FTI. Let FTI coffers start building up. Currently virtually no contributions have been received by FTI (except from FTI members), and we have only about 60 active leaders yet.
The most difficult part is to change the trajectory of “ship” as large as India. Once the shift occurs, however, things can happen easily.
Till then, let me focus on my own survival. India doesn’t yet need me – yet!

Apologies for the misintepretation ( or rather hurried conclusion) by Lok satta in the tweet you quoted above the Government still does not realise that it is sticking to a stupid policy that is choking farming sector in India.
The Statement by the CM
was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoNtCya_B8g&feature=youtu.be
This roughly translates to ” this government is very farmer friendly and we have no objection in lifting the ban on farming exports if it means better prices for farmers
BUT We have to understand that this same farmer will also be the consumer, so if we allow exports the prices will go up again which we dont want. we have put this policy in place to take care of both the consumer and the farmer ”
Lok satta rushed to the conclusion based on this news report which only said we are OK to lift the ban part of the speech but later realised it was not that easy. Please follow this post as on facebook I am reproducing here
http://www.facebook.com/PeopleForLoksatta
People For Loksatta just called Agriculture Minister Kanna Lakshmi Narayana office to get the official stance on Agri exports (lifting ban status quo ) to neighboring states.
We got in contact with ADDITIONAL Personal Secretary (Agriculture ministry), SRINIVAS garu who said “As it stands, Ban on exports is not lifted. Government will issue a notification on lifting this ban when it feels there is excess production. He said when there is excess production the prices will come down and that the government is thinking of allowing exports to neighboring states”.
PFL then called Loksatta Party office and spoke to DVVS Varma garu on what next if government is not responding to this unjust law and Varma garu told that the party will not stop here and work the right timing for Raitu Satyagraha from AP to Tamilnadu and from AP to Orissa.
This is still not over! So stay tuned friends!!
It is a shame that the AP government is dithering. But thanks for the update. The fight must go on!
