I'm glad Advani has recognised that people have readily called his bluff re: his pseudo "campaign" against corruption.
The Freedom Team of India (FTI) has imposed the sternest Code of Conduct and disciplinary process BEFORE talking about corruption. Not a single FTI member will be found associated with corruption, for even if the slightest evidence is found, the member will be EJECTED from FTI without further ado.
On the other hand, BJP has ACTIVELY engaged in MASSIVE corruption over the past 30 years. Its use of black money is legendary. And it NEVER TOOK THE SLIGHTEST action to prevent corruption. It is futile for Advani to pretend that BJP has locus standi in this area.
The BJP stinks of corruption. He can try fooling someone else. The people of India won't be so easily fooled.
L K Advani has at least started understanding a bit of this now:
“Small mistakes [Sanjeev: "small"!!!!!] by others are embarrassing the party leadership… no party can win the confidence of the people against the present corruption of the Congress party if its own house is bedevilled by similar weaknesses,” Advani added, speaking at a press conference here as part of his anti-corruption yatra.
Advani initially parried a question on Yeddyurappa, the BJP's first chief minister in south India, but later admitted that the party suffered embarrassment on account of his arrest.
“We don’t take our internal weaknesses lightly. This thing was vindicated in Karnataka clearly. We had cautioned him but once the report (of Lokayukta on illegal mining) came, he had to quit… There may be chances of a slip-up so I am telling every one in the party to remain vigilant,” he said.
