Till a few days ago there was a flurry of activity on FB with the Jan Lokpal bill and an excited rush to participate in some form or shape in the IAC movement. Freedom could come at the click of a button, it seemed. To skip a meal was to become a local hero.
Our young Facebook heros and heroines diligently recorded their participation in Freedom Movement No. 2, and have now become legitimate Freedom Fighters.
Their clicking the mouse has yielded results. The job has been done. Corruption has been removed.
So now back to movie songs, jokes, poems, and the lot.
Had I realised that removing corruption was so easy, I wouldn't have bothered to study the problem for twenty long years, then write a book. I would have just clicked my mouse and solved India's problems – long ago.

Sanjeev, I am positively impressed by the anti corruption campaign by Anna Hazare. I may not agree with his ways and I may not agree with his demands. It is entirely possible that Mr Hazare's efforts were more like an extra long bollywood movie. Whatever it may be, it got many cynical people like me to wonder if it is at all possible to have a less corrupt India.
No. I do not think that fasting and rallying can clean up our system. It needs somebody who has insider knowledge of the system. However, the trigger has to come from the irrational and belligerent person without a know-how of the system.
Although I apreciate your knowledge and analysis of the system, I suspect that the world moves in random directions…with black swan effect.
In my opinion, we don't need the best plan but the loudest action that can make a dent in iron-hand rule of Babu-Neta nexus. In current India, you cannot attack the current bunch of ruthless rulers and expect to stay alive. The only way to fight these demons is to whip yourself…and Anna did just that.
Indeed, I’m at least half way with you on this, Nitin. I support their mission entirely.
But what I’m trying to do is to nudge these idealists into the second stage – of politics and policy reform. My aim is to nudge these idealists to start THINKING. That’s why I’m repeating the same message again and again (in different forms and shapes), with the hope that one day it will sink in.
