I've been very concerned over the past many years that N.Murthy has been a font of hot air but no action as a citizen to help reform India's governance (e.g. see this post).

Today, I chanced upon an interview of his in which he suggests that MMS is an honest and well-intentioned person (a travesty of the truth), but on top of that, he says that Sonia Gandhi is "open-minded" and "concerned" about India!!!

How can he possibly reconcile this DISTORTION OF THE TRUTH with his claims to be a man of values?

In Hindi we have a term: चमचा. A blind "follower" of the Congress, is Mr. Murthy. He is speaking as if he is a member of the Congress.

I'm sorry, but don't you know that the Congress is the ROOT OF CORRUPTION IN INDIA? To pretend otherwise is to seriously mislead India.

I don't think you are a fool.

Indeed, you are very intelligent. So why this fawning on the CORRUPT LEADERS OF THE Congress? Is it possible that you really do not know how the Congress works?

Mr. Murthy, please read BFN and help us reform India by building a totally new political movement.

It is HIGHLY IMPROPER to support the head of perhaps the most corrupt organisation in the world.

This has got to be a joke!! He needs to be more aware of what's going on in the country. Informative article on Ms Gandhi - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cleo-paskal/worlds-9-most-powerful-pe_b_853132.html

  2. The problem with such people is that they don’t seem to want to investigate but make assumptions. Does Murthy know how India’s governance system works? If he doesn’t he can ask me. I can explain it in detail from top to bottom. Instead of doing that he seems to prefer to live in his world of assumptions (and delusions?).

The solution is that people like him start by trying to understand how India works, then help organise a political movement to fix it.

History won’t be kind to people like Murthy who had HUNDREDS of chances to help fix India’s problems but focused more on their personal gain at the expense of the bigger picture.

It is very easy to criticize others. When a common man criticizes or opines about a national celebrity, personality or politician, no one cares much. But when someone of the stature of Mr. Narayan Murthy criticizes our PM or Soniya Gandhi, it would be a headline in most news channels and newspapers.

And before any kind of accusations, they would make sure the authenticity and provability of their statement. Otherwise, they would not be much different from Mr. Digvijay Singh or Manish Tewari.

In my opinion, Mr. Murthy may be politically ignorant. However, I would not question his honesty and integrity for his views and remarks on MMS and Soniya Gandhi.

  4. Well, I’m not questioning his integrity. Just that he is being too naive. He lives in India, doesn’t he? He can check in 5 minutes how the country runs.

Well, Mr Murthy would definitely know much more than what even the common man knows about the state of India.

To take a specific instance, Mr Murthy was on the board of NDTV during a certain period of interest. Very recently, a sitting IT Commissioner of govt of India has alleged high value financial bungling at NDTV ( http://forums.bharat-rakshak.com/viewtopic.php?t=5736&p=1202714 ) during a recent period. I would conclude that Murthy would have knowledge of the facts. He is still connected to NDTV as an independent director. Despite his often repeated mantras on transparenc and good governance I don’t see any courageous statements emerging from Murthy, it is disappointing, to say the least !
