A few weeks ago a young reader Pranav Prasun wrote to me thus on FB:

"i read ur blog & site and i subscribe to ur views to a gr8 extent. I wud sincerely like to join hands wd u in ur ndeavour to build india as the most powerful yet ethically governed nation. i wud like to request u 2 kindly replace the " occasional" word with "revolutionary" in your blog`s title."

The idea was nice but it is just too much hard work to change the blog's name. However, I've now decided, upon review, to accept Pranav's suggestion.

It will take me time to complete all the "formalities" – such as changing the blog image, and changing its name on various directories. But this is it. I'm renaming this to Sanjeev Sabhlok's revolutionary blog.

The name is more direct, more focused, more meaningful. No namby pamby and polite bourgeois understatement. No beating about the bush. To the point.

My goal is indeed revolutionary. To change India and modernise it, to help it achieve its potential. So no lesser name will do for this blog.

Thanks, Pranav!

(I love the idea that the internet provides us access to so many prompts to increased creativity…)

    • Sanjeev Sabhlok Thanks, Nizam. If nothing else, I'm enjoying the ride: all the books I read (including those suggested by people), the comments I receive. There is a new world out there of people willing to keep learning. More importantly, this keeps me connected to people like you whose work I admire.

    Dear Sabhlok,

Good decision. Should have taken the decision earlier. The word 'occasional' is a bit boring even though meaningful. The word 'revolutionary' may draw better attention of active and extra-ordinary people. Suggest check if a word is available which is still more appealing than 'revolutionary' since the task you are pioneering is exceptionally tremendous before you take the final decision so that who stumble upon are tempted to read it seriously. Regret I couldn’t suggest better for poor English.

  5. Thanks, Ramesh.

Alternatives include: “radical”, “liberal”, “incendiary”, “provocative”, – but I’m fine with revolutionary for now.

A spark is ignited. Let it create a big fire to burn the evil and bring the revolution in the polity.
